Abstract
Thinkers have always considered the relationship between art and religion, and everyone has looked at it from their own point of view. For Islamic thinkers in general, art and religion have a deep connection. On the other hand, art as a textbook is of great importance in the country’s education system. Accordingly, it is necessary to conform to Islamic thought to provide the means for realizing a good life for educators. The purpose of this study is to explain art in Islamic thought and its implications for the purposes of art education. The research method is analytical and deductive inference. In this way, first, art is explained in the Islamic view, then the goals of art education are inferred. Findings indicate that Islamic aesthetics has implications in drawing the goals of art education in Islamic education. Among them, the goals achieved are truth-seeking, perfectionism, rationality, and fostering creativity. The research results indicate that art has a high position in the Islamic attitude, and accurate drawing of the goals of art education can help the excellence of art education achieve the levels of the good life.
